Geoff Gaunt BA(Hons) FPFS Chartered Financial Planner

Geoff Gaunt has over twenty years experience in the financial services arena, ranging from management, training and advising. He started Quest Financial Planning, which is an appointed representative of Johnston Financial, with his wife, Denise, in 2005.  The idea for the concept began as far back as 1999. They felt that for too long clients were not in control of their financial decisions because many of these decisions originated from sales driven impulses rather than clients' own genuine financial needs. Geoff and Denise have established an operating model which is designed to put the client back in charge of their own financial decisions.

Geoff is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (FPFS), a qualification which is held by only a handful of people in the UK.  Geoff has also attained a BA (Hons) Financial Services.  These qualifications are well in excess of the minimum to practice as an adviser and is further evidence of Geoff’s commitment to excellence in all that he does. However, the world in which we live is constantly changing, so, like all of our advisers, he follows a strict regime of continuing professional development to ensure he stays at the top of his profession.

Geoff would like to have some involvement in changing the financial services industry to that of a profession. The creation of Quest is a first step in this ambition.  Geoff, like Adrian Johnston is one of the first group of people in the UK to have been awarded the Chartered Financial Planner title. This title is awarded to those financial planners who have demonstrated technical knowledge and its application to degree level by examination. Furthermore, the title holders must follow a rigorous professional development plan to maintain competence. With a Chartered Financial Planner you are assured of appropriate advice regarding your financial affairs.  Geoff has also been awarded the Certified Financial Plannercm mark by the Institute of Financial Planning.
