Death of Caroline Johnston

Caroline Johnston 1954 to 2010

All of us at Johnston Financial were shocked by the death of our admin director, Caroline Johnston, on Hogmanay 2010.  Caroline died of a heart attack suffered early on that morning.

Caroline had been a director of Johnston Financial Services Ltd from its formation in December 1987 and had worked in the business full time since 1989.  Caroline had been actively involved in all ventures of the business over the years and was a director of Rosewood Insurance Consultants Ltd, our general insurance business that we sold some years ago as well as being a partner in JF Mortgages LLP, our mortgage advice business that was merged into the main business last year.

Caroline, ran the administration side of the business from the outset and as the business grew, became our Admin Director, managing all of our administration, accounting and HR functions.

Caroline, also pioneered the introduction of and the gaining of the ISO 9001 quality mark for the joint businesses.  She went on to ensure that the standards were maintained and indeed, improved upon, so that we have been awarded the mark for a third year.

One of our staff remarked that, “Caroline was a great employer, as well as a friendly face and generous person”.  As she said, “Caroline was a reliable and caring friend to her dearest and closest friends”.

As an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, Caroline was highly qualified.  She was very professional and intelligent and was devoted to the success of Johnston Financial.

We will miss her.
